It is largely through Kaisa’s work on building bridges that we have shared the uniqueness of Chinese culture and the richness of our cultural heritage with mainstream society. It is the organization’s way of protecting, preserving and propagating the indelible imprints of the rich legacy of the ethnic Chinese in all aspects of Philippine life. While Kaisa’s work is far from over, members are secure in the knowledge that, Kaisa’s presence has made a difference, in both the Tsinoy community and especially in mainstream Philippine society.

ABOUT KAISA

Kaisa Para sa Kaunlaran

Kaisa´s role as a bridge between two cultures and two generations has been carried out effectively and is a model worthy of emulation in other countries with ethnic minorities. Our task is not yet done. We continue to build bridges, between peoples and generations as part of our Kaisa work. These bridges lead toward more bridges of peace and understanding as we undertake Kaunlaran work in our task of nation building.

Kaisa Heritage Center

Kaisa is a lasting repository of the historical and cultural legacy of the Chinese in all aspects of Philippine life. We document the tangible and indelible imprints and influences of the Chinese in Philippine history, society, culture and politics. We highlight the unique blending of Filipino and Chinese cultures and the intertwining destinies of the two peoples throughout history.

We believe that the Philippines is our one and only country where our future generations will live. We are aware of and recognize, with other Filipinos, the task we share with them, and, the unique role we have been asked to play in building this nation.

Our roots are in Philippine soil and the interests of the Filipinos and the Philippine society are our paramount concern. We will actively involve ourselves in socio-economic projects and services which will inculcate civic responsibility and social awareness and which will be of benefit to the common good.

We will initiate social and moral reforms in the Chinese-Filipino community, restore the age old values of thrift, honesty and truthfulness, hard work and simple living. We will cooperate with existing social and business organizations in working for the general welfare of the greater Philippine society.

We will undertake research and publications to enhance understanding, communication, and cooperation between the minority groups and the mainstream of Philippine society and ultimately strive to weld these groups together, with coherence and harmony, into a united force that shares Filipino values and purposes for an inspiring national identity.
